Adventure Day in Dublin

The Clarence Hotel sits right on the banks of the River Liffey, in the heart of Dublin city. From your bedroom at The Clarence, you are never more than a quick stroll away from a whole host of activities to keep you busy and entertained. When you want to get your blood pumping and heart rate going, we want to let you know about some exciting adventure activities than you can take part in during your stay.

Why not take in the gorgeous sights of Dublin city by water? The Dublin Kayak Company offer a two hour tour up and down the Liffey. You’ll get to take in many of the sights and landmarks along the quays, plus you’ll get to see us from the water! Give us a wave as you paddle by! All of the equipment will be provided to you by your professional guides, who will keep you in their safe hands for the entire tour. You’ll see Dublin from a completely different angle, it’s a great way to spend some time.

On your bike!

If you’d prefer dryer surroundings, then why not get on a bike? For those of you adventure types who have cars and bikes, why not take a trip out to Ticknock at the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains? It’s the perfect place to go for a picnic and a full-on mountain biking experience. It’s about 1 hr from The Clarence and is certain to be a seriously thrilling and fun day out. You’ll get stunning views of the entire city and of the mountains themselves. Make sure to keep your eyes on the cycling track, though! There are plenty of brilliant bike tour companies in Dublin that offer some great tours. You could check out Lazy Bikes, a tour company that offer cool looking eco-bikes with little electric motors. They go from the city centre (right ‘round the corner from us!) and go as far as Kilmainham Gaol (jail) and back, including stops at Dublin Castle, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Guinness Brewery, Royal Hospital Kilmainham and Christchurch Cathedral.

It dazzles with over 250 climbing routes and 2,000 square metres of bouldering, you can find the climb to suit your ability and still have lots of fun!
