Its festival season folks and one of the best festivals of the summer is just around the corner…
Longitude Festival runs from Friday 17th – Sunday 19th July at Marlay Park in Ballinteer just outside of Dublin City Centre.
This festival has so much to offer, with mega hit headlining acts like Hozier, The Chemical Brothers, Caribou, Jungle, Alt-J, James Blake and loads more it is going to be and epic event! Its proximity to the City Centre means that it is easy to get to and relatively small and manageable in comparison to the other big music festivals in Ireland.
Some of the attractions to note include…
The Whelan’s Live Stage, which makes a welcomed return to Longitude this summer bringing some of the finest up and coming bands to Marlay Park. Having celebrated their 25th anniversary last year the Whelan’s Live Stage at Longitude continues the iconic venues ethos of showcasing quality new artists.
Heineken Ireland, the official beer of Longitude, is bringing its biggest ever “experience” to Longitude this year with the “Heineken Sound Atlas Tokyo Experience”. This is Heineken’s music platform, a passport to music and cultural experiences from all over the globe which brings Tokyo’s thriving music scene to festival goers with unique staging, music, food and experiences. The Sound Atlas structure has been custom-built for the Longitude Festival and, similar to Tokyo’s underground spaces, includes a Japanese-style Izakaya, a noodle bar, a ping pong tournament and, of course, karaoke… Non-stop craic!
The longitude lounge is also a must-visit space, fans who have already bought tickets to the festival can now upgrade their standard tickets to experience Longitude as a VIP by getting access to the Longitude Lounge in association with Coca-Cola. Located next to the main stage, the lounge is an exclusive area where guests can come to enjoy a relaxed and spacious environment while listening to some chilled tunes between festival acts.
